DeepBrain Tech. have successfully fabricated multi-usage neural probes, which was able to record neural signal and apply deep brain stimulation (DBS) simultaneously.
Our neural probes has five main features.
1. Advanced biocompatible fabrication.
2. Surface modification by nanotechnology.
3. 3-dimensional micro-electrode.
4. Magnetic resonance (MR) compatibility in ultra high field.
5. Multi-dimension signal recording and neuro-modulation.
One of the main features of our neural probes was MR compatible, with this feature, users can combine the MR imaging of large scale brain network alteration in neural degeneration disease with DBS therapy researches.
Besides, our neural probes is highly bio-compatible, we have tested on rat and mice model, and the result suggested minimum inflammation and was capable of long-term recording.
Furthermore, our recently developed neural probe has combined with waveguide which can be used for optogenetics researches.
Our current dissemination goals are promoting our well-developed neural probes to whom are focus on small animal researches, and continue to develop the neural probes for larger animal or non-human primates target.
A. Flexibility of the neural probe.
B. Representative TSE T2 image and GE-EPI image of the neural probe embedded in an agarose phantom. Statistical analysis of the corresponding five 1D profiles through the center of the neural probe of the images of the signal intensity.
C. Representative MR images of the rat brain with the neural probes implanted using TSE T2 and GE-EPI pulse sequences, respectively. A 2,000 ms excerpt for a recording of the neural probes induced voltage and eddy current during the TSE T2 and GE-EPI sequence.
